California’s Napa and Sonoma: After the Fires

Oct 25 - 2017

The Napa and Sonoma fires began on the evening of October 8, 2017, and as a result of 50mph winds spread at an unprecedented rate. Since then, we have received many inquiries and kind thoughts from guests and prospective guests about the California fires and the impact on our favorite cycling routes.  While we are extremely saddened by the impact the disaster has had on the region and the personal property of some of our local team members, we are becoming re-energized by what we are now seeing, hearing, and experiencing: the show will go on and we will do our part to help this unique area get back on its feet.

At this time, the fires are mostly contained and our cycling routes and accommodations are largely unaffected. The majority of local businesses have reopened their doors, the grape harvest is complete. While the next few months will be very active with recovery work, the green will return over the winter and the area’s natural beauty will continue to shine through. The most productive action we can all collectively take is to visit, tour, eat, drink, savor, ride, and explore the region as we always have.

LifeCycle Adventures is continuing to design and run its customized private cycling tours in Napa and Sonoma, and would love to work with you to create your perfect bucket list cycling vacation that  covers everything from the inland wineries and coastal redwoods to the majestic Pacific Ocean.

And, in the meantime, while you’re at home reviewing the perfect cycling itinerary we’ve put together for you, there is something you can do to help: pick up, open, and enjoy bottle of Napa and Sonoma wine.
