As well as running Oregon Bike Tours, the guide team in Portland supports several charity events each year. This past weekend marked the third time we’ve had our van at the Harvest Century, an annual fundraising ride for Community Vision. Community Vision is the largest nonprofit organization providing individualized housing, supported living, employment and home ownership services to people with disabilities and their families in Oregon.
The perfect weather – a bright, crisp fall day – was enjoyed by over 1000 participants as they snaked around the Willamette Valley. This is the same area where we run so many of our Oregon bike tours. This year Tony drove the van – collecting waifs and strays – and Gretchen manned the winery.
We loved being a part of the Harvest Century and we’ve already made plans to return next year.
