The Columbia River Gorge and Mount Hood are immense in both size and beauty. The Gorge was carved by the second largest river in North America and, along this stretch, is fed by many spectacular waterfalls. The Gorge is also home to the car-free Historic Columbia River Highway – one of Bicycling magazine’s best rides. In the background, Mount Hood provides a stunning, snow-capped backdrop to the tour. The mountains make this destination perfect for intermediate and advanced bicycle touring.
The gateway city is Portland, Oregon – America’s most bicycle-friendly city.
