Before You Travel
A month
or so before arriving at camp, you talk with your coach – typically
by phone – to assess your current fitness level and discuss
your training goals. Based on this consultation,
your coach designs a training program – typically 5
to 7 days.
When You Arrive
At the start of the trip, you meet in person
with your coach and review the training plan. They will go over
each day’s routes to help you explain how the rides
fit with your training plan. Before you start riding,
your coach may also have suggestions about your bike set-up. They
can also advise on nutrition, bike handling, psychology and
other aspects of performance.
During Camp
Power meters are a great way for your coach to
monitor your performance. These advanced training tools measure
speed, cadence, speed and, most importantly, power output. There
are several models to choose from and we can help you choose
the best one for you.
Most riders choose to have nightly or
bi-nightly consults with the coach by phone or email. Based on what your coach
observes, they will often update your training plan. Most
riders also enjoy a post-ride massage.
After
Camp
After the camp is over, the coach will discuss with you
to assess how well you did against your objectives and make
suggestions for future training.
