Bodega Bay is
a working fishing port with a large fleet catching
salmon, crab and shrimp. You get an excellent sense
of the town, as well as some great views, if you take
a flat detour down Bay Flat Road to Bodega Head. A
short hill at the end of this road will afford spectacular
views of waves crashing into the rocks below.
Approaching Bodega Bay from the north
offers some classic Californian coastal riding. Typically,
the wind is at your
back as you cycle past mile after
mile of the
pristine
coastline; all of which is under
the protection of the
Sonoma Coast State Beach.
